Is it possible to record the contents of one video onto another with two video recorders and if so how is it done?

    It is possible.

Connect the audio/video out of one vcr into the other. Press play on the master and press record on the copy.

If you are copying a commercial vhs then it is likely to have macrovision on it and it wont copy, which is illegal anyway.

Simply connect the recorders with Scart leads. One should be playing, the other recording. You may need to select the Aux channel on the recording machine.
Problem may arise if you are trying to duplicate a shop bought pre-recorded tape, as it may have copy protection.
