Hi All,
I have some of the small camcorder tapes in a drawer and would like to convert them to DVD.
I don't have the camcorder anymore and the tapes are about 7 years old. I also don't have a VHS player....just a laptop.
Is there anyway of getting them converted easily?

Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

A conversion service? Without any replay device, there is nothing you can do yourself. Using a search engine, look for the tape format you have (there are several) and get it transferred to DVD by using the appropriate search term.0

You will need something to play the tapes on, either another camcorder or a VHS player. Then you'll need something to capture the video from the player. This is an example...
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/281095145935?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&_lwgsi=y&cbt=y&device=t&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=63
But there are all different types.
Then you'll need some editing software to produce the dvd before it can be burnt to disc. Windows Movie Maker is free and does a reasonable job

It's not that difficult to do, just fairly time consuming. However if you google video tape conversion there are companies that will do it for you.0
