applying for tesco credit card

i applied online for the Tesco 18 month interest free credit card about two weeks ago, they said "we may be able to give you a card" and that they would be in contact. Last week they sent me a letter asking to send my supporting documents (proof of id and address). My question is does that mean i passed the credit check or would they ask me to go to the effort of sending these documents before they had done the credit check? Has anyone got any other advice about the Tesco application process, how long it takes, chances of getting accepted etc?

It seems more likely they'll give you the card if they've asked for ID.

Chances are they'd only decline it now if what you supplied them wasn't quite right.

Hi,

I had the same issue, the application was approved online, but then they asked for more info to prove the income I had put down. It's just a second check - nothing to worry about (unless you lied on your application!)
