hi
im applying for a mortgage tomorrow and im reading so much about defaults on accounts.
this may sound stupid but if you had defaults it will show on your credit file, ive checked mine and have what looks like none, theres alot of zeros for every year on each account which from reading assumes it good.
If i had a default it wouldnt be lurking anywhere else? or it wouldnt show up with the lenders but not with myself on this file?
This makes me sounds really dumb because but im taking my file with me tomorrow to show them.
When it comes to the credit file as well it shows me at fair rating however i have never missed payments, i do have a car loan for 4125 and a credit card i pay off each month, i have 2 accounts on there that have been closed but not updated which was a total of £579. I have an income of £22000 so feel like this doesnt show how well i actually manage my finances.( i think really well)
thanks ( i may be worrying about nothing however its a big thing)

Hi
If you had a default it would show in the relevant account in the credit account section. If you had any you'd be able to tell at a glance.
If you don't even have any missed payments showing then it makes sense that you don't have any defaults.
Sounds like you should be fine in terms of your credit history.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
thanks i think i was just stressing over nothing, theres alot of defaults going around i thought i was missing something.0

Genuine Defaults, from the Courts, are stored by Registry Trust, and CRA's take this data to populate the report, I've known when there's been no credit history a CCJ didn't show but worth a look anyway!0

You mean a CCJ, not a default.
katy89 was asking about defaults. They have nothing to do with the courts.Still rolling rolling rolling......
