Disappearing Dairy Free product

Been buying Solesse Mayonnaise from ASDA for a couple of years. It's very good and totally dairy free. Zero cholesteral and excellent for lactose intolerence. Guess what; ASDA have dumped it, so had a look around other stores for an alternative. Morrisons don't sell one. Sainsbury's have dumped Tiger Tiger May-o (still selling the garlic version), Tesco no longer do a dairy free mayo.
Apparently they all say there's no demand.
Another case where the supermarkets tell you what you can buy not what you want.
Arla produce a Lactose-free semi-skinned fresh milk and it's good. They've just brought out a fully skimmed version. Tesco and ASDA sell it but Sainsbury's says there's no demand.
That's it - I've had a rant

No help, I'm afraid, but sympathy. I'm noticing more Vanishing Vegetarian products lately as well. Chasing the mass-market easy money, I guess?0

I buy the Plamil brand which I get from the health food shop, but it's expensive. I need to try making my own. Lots of different recipes out there if you search on "vegan mayo recipe"; I expect I'll have to experiment a bit to get just the right taste.0

Would you still buy it from them if the price was triple because the quantity required didn't provide any leverage with their supplier to negotiate a lower cost? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I was a bit puzzled by this - mayo shouldn't contain dairy products anyway? just checked the Bramwells Real Mayonnaise from Aldi - nice healthy rapeseed oil and eggs and mustard etc - and no dairy! read the labels on other brands - as I said they shouldn't contain milk or milk products!0

are you lactose intolerant?
Is the zero cholesterol just a benefit?0 -

Hellmans Mayonnaise doesn't contain dairy products but, curiously, both the light (27% fat) and the lighter than light versions (3% fat) do.

Tryingtoretire, you could try making your own vegan mayonnaise. Here's two recipes, one high fat and the other low. If you've got a food processor they both look dead easy to make.

Solesse is an egg free vegan mayo, so not just dairy free.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
