My dad's 9 year old PC has finally got to the stage where it's got to be replaced.

He doesn't use it for much more than web browsing and email - the most graphically demanding things he does is occasionally use Photoshop and Google Earth.

I'm looking to get something like this:

It seems a bit OTT spec-wise but it should be good enough to last him a few years.

Thing I'm not sure about is whether I'm likely to have trouble running Linux Mint on it.

Anyone here got Mint running Ok on a similar APU/chipset, or anticipate any problems?

    Thanks - it's just that I've been having trouble with Mint a bit recently.

    Tried to update my MythTV server (also on AMD hardware) from Mint 12 to Mint 15 yesterday and just could not make it work... had to abandon Mint for Mythbuntu there.

    But I guess you're right - even if I can't get Mint working, one of the other distros should work. Think I'll just go ahead and buy one - price seem Ok at £250 for base unit only?

    Mythbuntu=Mint=Ubuntu just different forks
    At the end of the day whack it up with a live cd test it and then send it back on DSR if there are major probs
