New bathroom fitted and floor tiles lifted

Hi, firstly apologies if I've posted in the wrong place but it's my first post :undecided We recently had a new bathroom fitted complete with new floor before tiles were laid. After a week we noticed the grouting going dark, then some of the floor tiles were lifting and the door wouldn't close anymore without pushing and scraping over the tiles. We suspected a leak so called the fitter out, who apologised and said there was a leak from the toilet which he fixed, he also said that the tiles would go down. The tiles haven't gone down 2wks on and my concern is that the new floor which he fitted is now all ruined underneath? he's coming back out to sort it on Monday but I do feel concerned that the new floor is now ruined underneath. Can anyone advise please? thank you.

If it was a chipboard floor then yes it is ruined, it soaks in the water and expands, when it dries out it doesn't go back down. If it was proper floorboards then it may go back down depending on how much water it soaked in and if there is anywhere for the water to evaporate too.

Tbh I would not expect it to go back down or for the tiles to be seated properly now due to water damage to the adhesive and grout.
