Bed and Mattress World, Groupon

Hey,

I bought a bed through Groupon from an outfit called "Bed and Mattress World" based in Scotland.

Long story short, the bed is useless, it doesn't fit together properly because all the wooden slats are too short (they fit by they'd need to be at least 10mm longer to accommodate for the way they bow slightly when you're in bed)

At this point I'd like to state that I'm not overweight, I weight 12 stone 8 pounds and I'm 22 years old. This bed should have been perfect.

Anyway so after one night of sleeping on it it had completely collapsed, the weld is such a poor quality that its separated the legs from their fixing in more than one place. Also the mattress is only about 4 -5 inches thick and you can feel the wooden slats through the mattress after a few moments of lying on it.

In all this bed is totally unfit for purpose. I called Bed and Mattress world and they gave me an @aol.co.uk address to email, which I did, with full details including photographic evidence so they knew I wasn't trying to pull a fast one. No reply.

7 days later I phoned and spoke to someone else who fobbed me off saying they were working through a backlog of groupon complaints as they had received a "bad batch" of beds from the supplier and they would be in touch very soon.

I phoned bed and mattress again 7 days later but as soon as I identify myself they just say that "because I've slept on it its now second hand so they won't return it" and hang up...

I emailed groupon and had a few phonecalls with different people to find out what has happened and sure enough it turns out bed and mattress world have been using groupon to sell a lot of dodgy beds.

As it stands groupon are trying to contact bed and mattress world for a resolution but they are being ignored also, so looks like groupon will be refunding me out of their own pocket.

Just wanted to put this here so hopefully it will save people wasting their money with bed and mattress world in the future.
