I used computers most of the day, and my (private sector) employer paid for the eye test, then £40 voucher towards the cost of glasses that I needed to see my screen easily.

They didn't openly advertise this though!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Nope, they'd be silly to do that. Also, I think if I was playing silly beggers I wouldn't allow the glasses offsite either.

My previous employer would pay for the eye test no problem but would only pay for spectacles/lenses if the optician stated that the deterioration in my eyesight was purely because of computer screen use. I have yet to find an optician who would do this in my area, despite looking for the last 20years :rotfl:

Using a computer will not cause a 'deteriotation' in a users eyesight.

It may cause eye strain, headaches and other DSE associated ailments, but there is no evidence that would suggest it deteriorates eyesight.

Perhaps that is the reason no optician would state such a thing - or more likely the employer knowing that no optician would confirm this to avoid paying for a test/specs!
