One week after sending them an email of my concerns, and no reply that seems to properly address them. However, I have received a second copy of the 'We wrote to you asking for some documents' email that they sent initially.

And it still contains the freephone number that didn't work last time they sent it (as it appears they've abandoned that number in favour of a 08 business rate number, which once again hardly inspires confidence.

In summary: Still apparently pretty shambolic. Possibly best to avoid.

    Thank you.

At least one item from their T&Cs is of concern to me:

"... we will let you know of changes to the interest rate [where] the rate reduction is... greater than 0.25%."

They seam an honest lot. Even extending bonus rates to existing customers. Wish I had known this.

The Coventry BS is one of the best around. They are very helpful and efficient, setting up accounts very promptly.Though if you are not already set up for their internet banking it will take a few days but they have an excellent grid code system for extra security.

I would always consider them first for any account, have used them for years and they always come out pretty good on interest rates as well.

A top rate of interest, as you have found, does not always equate to being efficient.I know which i would rather have.

Just to clarify: My last post was about ICICI not Coventry BS.

Ologhai,i am aware of that.Just someone suggested the Coventry and i was confirming that i am more than happy with them also.Just because their rate is not quite as good, would not put me off.Service is as important,as you have discovered.

At 1.6% it is not bad though.

It is absolutely abysmal. The trouble is there is nothing better.
