Ecco shoes

Last year I bought a strong pair of walking shoes from an Ecco shop. Very comfortable they are , or were, this morning out for a walk the heels of both shoes totally disintegrated . Looking on the web I now find this is a general problem well documented and one the consensus is don't buy Ecco shoes.

I've been a fan of ECCO sandals for years. This year I saw a particular colour but it was out of stock in my usual online shop. I made the mistake of ordering it from 2013Ecco shoes. They are scammers hosted by Alibaba, com. I haven't had the sandals and all emails are ignored. I did get one from Alibaba, promising a refund. It never came & after that my emails were ignored.0

Is a year really that short a time for a pair of walking boots to wear out? I mean, if you do a lot of walking I wouldn't say that's unreasonable.
That said I am biased in favour of Ecco shoes. I'm wearing a pair right now, ladies leather boots with a small heel, that I've had for ten years and they still look great. I think they need re-heeling at the cobblers as the heels have worn down a bit wonky (must be my wonky feet lol) but they've lasted a very long time.:coffee:Coffee +3 Dexterity +3 Willpower -1 Ability to Sleep

There's been quite a few threads about the reliability of Ecco shoes - or, rather, the unreliabilty.0

I have had one pair of Ecco boots (not walking) for at least 8 years and the soles are still fine.
If they are 'proper' walking boots e.g. like these, I would expect them to last much longer than a year unless they are being used all day every day.:
