If what people are saying is 'they are comfy shoes', then I'm not going to disagree, but !!!!!! to claim they cure plantar fascitis or arthritis is a load of bollix.

    Who said they cure anything?

According to jacqueschirac...."for the relief they can give to those with plantar fasciitis. I don't know if this is clinically proven, but the wealth of anecdotal evidence is too great to ignore."

and then two other posters say 'they are good for arthritis too' and 'helps me with aching knees etc....'

I accept they are comfy shoes....which some people find comfy [which anecdotally helps with their symptoms, just like any other comfy shoes would].

So there you have it, I admit it....fitflops are comfy, just like other comfy shoes.

Now you just have to admit that they possess no special magical, mystical, miraculous or medicinal powers, other than 'being comfy'....and the world will be a better place.

And where exactly does it say they cure anything?

I wasn't suggesting that we persecute a company, merely making sure no one thought they did anything useful for toning or keeping 'fit'.

But the company themselves dont do that anymore. Something that has been pointed out to you already

Correct...but the misconception still persists...and let's face it, the name perpetuates the myth.

Why do they still chunter on about 'microwobbleboard technology', if it's not to confer some pseudo-scientific gloss to their product?

    For the sake of clarity...........

    1. Fitflops have no special magical toning or exercise or 'gym in your shoes' properties.
    2. Fitflops used to claim this
    3. Fitflops no longer claim this.
    4. Fitflops are comfy, indeed fitflops are very comfy...for some buyers.
    5. People with planatar fasciitis/arthritis prefer comfy shoes to uncomfortable ones.
    6. There are other comfy shoes available.

    Pedantic point taken. My bad.

Maybe now you could finish reading my post, wherein I suggest.....

  • Well, I'm sure the don't possess magic powers if that helps, I imagine they're like the special (and bloomin' expensive) inserts you can get for normal shoes- orthaheel I think it is.

They are a bit out of my budget having looked at the website, but I think the more formal looking pumps are a great idea, especially as the shaped sole makes them look much nicer than flats. I'd def get some if I had a job that needed me to dress smartly!
  • Computersaysno, have you read Ben Goldman's 'Bad Pharma'? Scary, infuriating stuff.
