Car Parking Management Ltd are in the brown stuff with York City Council.
CPM have "leased" land and have set up camp there with a new car park without planning permission it has been revealed. We have invested in the area - laid a new surface on top of the builders rubble and broken glass and we have local support CPM said in a statement.
Local support till folks start getting invoiced ! hope the council throw the book at them but knowing YCC they wont do owt about it.

Its a bit of a lottery, some councils reject retrospective planning apps and get the structure torn down whilst others cave. Its worth lobbying the council to reject because CPM may well actually be able to send an invoice.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Bet they have ticketed for not parking in the bays, which by the looks of things don't exist
also a complaint to the bpa and dvla to ensure that no unlawful tickets are given on this illegal site is in order I think.

Er, because they didn't get planing permission. I had to spend a lot of money, the best part of a year, and jump through a lot of hoops to get planning permission for a small extension to my home. Why should they not have to follow the same rules?Je suis Charlie.0 -
sorry yes...allowing cars to park on a bit of crappy unused and derelict ground really does need careful consideration.0

Rules is rules. Change of use requires planning permission. They're not in the poo for allowing vehicles to park, they're in the poo for failing to observe the planning laws.
We none of us get to pick and choose the laws we wish to obey. It's not optional.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Of course it does, and I do realise you're being ironic. But what happens if someone is seriously injured or killed because corners have been cut? Planning is an essential part of building whether its a house or a car park. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you.
