I'm thinking of doing a balance transfer on my husbands natwest card prob to barclaycard, we have just moved house and wonder if this would have any bearing on the application.?

If you aren't on the electoral role yet, then yes that will have some bearing.
As will the fact you haven't lived in the new place for very long.
Six months should be sufficient before you start applying for credit products, although you might get lucky and be accepted straight away.
At the end of the day, applying for credit is just a lottery.0
