Stick with AA car insurance ?

I have been quoted a renewal of £129.24 for AA car insurance. I have looked on compare site and it's 193.59. I could stay as I am and let the renewal go through but if I go through Top Cashback I will get £26. Would it be cheeky to ask the AA to knock off the cashback if I renew?

    you can try. i dont think these cashback sites are officially recognised though. The sales reps do have some room for allowing discounts in order to pricematch competitors and to retain customers.

    You are right, I phoned and he said he can see what he can do. Came back and after a short while nothing doing. I closed the account, he will send papers only for me to open up another one with £26 cashback. If I go through topcashback via Gocompare, will I still get the cashback ?

    No.

    You have to use the link from topcashback to AA and get a new quote.

    (Make sure it's not £26 more than gocompare!!)

    in round figures.......

    renewal = £130
    new customer quote = £190 less £30 cashback = £160

    and you want to go as a new customer

    What am I missing?

    Sorry, my mistake. I was quoted a renewal of £192. Why I put £129 I do not know. Must have done the figures back to front.

    Great, cancelled the renewal and went direct via Top Cashback and low and behold it is higher priced than Go Compare. I have to opt for my voluntary excess to more than £150 to get the price the same. Wish I hadn't cancelled now. Top Cashback reviews mostly say AA doesn't pay or track a lot of the time :-(
