Sweet and sour sounds horrible with star anise. What a shame about the leftovers.
CW - hope you feel better really soon.
Hope the leaks are soon sorted.
Had a lovely evening out last night at a family party. Took mum and an elderly aunt home, taking both into their house to make sure they were ok. Went upstairs to put mum's electric blanket on as she was cold then we left for home. What I didn't realise was that mum no longer sleeps on the side of the bed she has always done and now sleeps on "dad's side". I had plugged the blanket in on "her side". She didn't realise and as she is blind she fell over the cable when she went to bed, hitting her head on the radiator. Didn't know anything about it until tonight, although she seems ok but a little shaken. I just feel so guilty that I hadn't realised she slept on the other side and I feel it is my fault she fell.

Oh no Snd - I hope your mum is ok. She must have been so shocked and upset. Your mum must feel she is nearer your dad by sleeping where he did.

SND - A is right, there is no way you could have known she'd moved sides of the bed, unfortunately accidents happen. I wonder whether she moved sides to feel close to your dad? My mum did that when mine passed away.

That does remind me, must get new blanket this winter - OH likes one, I don't but the one we have doesn't have a timer and OH had a tendency to fall asleep with it on full whack, cue one sweaty OH and one hot moi. Looking at one which also has foot and body zones so you can heat them differently. If it could also do the housework that would be fab :rotfl:

Kerri - if you find one that does the housework get me one as well please.:rotfl:

I'll put a wholesale order in for us if I find one :rotfl:

Thought I'd share this with you all, so I was doing the shopping at A$da this afternoon. 3pm on a Sun is like hell on earth but with more annoying kids (and before any of you with children shout at me, I don't mind kids doing the shopping with parents as it is a life skill, BUT I object to screams and tantrums in the sweet aisle, kids running up and down the aisles like it's a playground (then when one smacks their face on your trolley it's somehow your fault ) and parents who do not teach their kids to have some semblance of awareness of other people in a busy store (and then wonder how they get bumped into or lost:mad:) Or perhaps I was just a non-typical child, stay by the trolley / hold the handle meant 'stay with me and don't run off' , no meant no on the odd occasion I might ask for something and OMG I would never have dreamed of screaming at the top of my lungs in the middle of the store - ever.

Anyway, I digress (oh but I did get two packs of mince for 25p each :D) Merrily made my way back to the car (the long way round to maximize wombling potential) ;) And had what must have been the strangest womble by my car ever...two boxes of liqueur chocolates  I think the person parked in the space must've put them on the kerb planning to put them in the boot last so they didn't get squashed, prob got distracted an drove off. So I have rehomed them for xmas (and if they are any of the crew on here......:p:rotfl:)

Also saw a girls lunchbox thing in a trolly too, again must've got left, but I left that as a) I don't need one, b) I hope the person who bought it might have gone back for it.

More big hugs PM - it's probably hard to stay positive but things have a way of coming through for us, even if it's not in the way we thought so don't give up xx

Great news about the holiday jeferey :j Where are you going in Turkey? We keep looking at it, but its somewhere I am so unfamiliar with I can never decide where to book.
