You bet - and to think this is it slowing down!
We had some torrential rain this evening with some hail, thunder and lightning too. Glad we had just got back from my parents (been for lunch).

We had the same late afternoon, weather I mean, not veg from your allotment :rotfl: actually, that reminds me haven't checked how my two little spuds are doing that I planted up, bit of a minefield to get down the side of the house now between the wasps nest and the pigeons pebble dashing the path with elderberries.

It wasn;t as bad as that here. We had rain in the morning yesterday but by the afternoon the sun came out and strangely it got a bit warmer. Soon went cold when the sun went down though.

At least all your water butts are full now:rotfl:

  • Hi all Aesop has asked me to pop along with any ideas I have to help out with Kerri's post below. She may tell you I'm bossy but I'm not honest:D Pork Shank can be be cooked in cola yes it is a cut of the leg. It also is great cooked similar to how you would treat a lamb shank. Very tasty if you make slits it and pop in the slits slivers of garlic, slow cook with a some water, a carrot, onion and stick of celery. Drain the stock and use it too make gravy. You do need to slow cook it. I'm afraid I can't really help with turkey offal as I usually boil all the giblets together and use the stock to make amazing gravy and nibble on the hot giblets with some yummy bread and butter. xx

Morning all, I was still working until 8pm last night so didn't get a lot of time after to post. Pleased to report I'm on the mend though, going to spend the day catching up on housework etc and not going out.

Btw, does anyone have any good recipes for a pork shank? Saw something about pork hock in coke on one of the forums, wondered if it would work with the shank.

Also have a mix of offal in the freezer, stuffed lambs hear, turkey liver and I think a turkey heart too. If anyone can come up with something I can turn those into that would be great. Trying to clear out some space for Xmas. In true ready, steady cook style, I also have short rust pastry, casserole lamb, sausages, onions and potatoes that could be used. Although can get other necessary ingredients too. :D

Grey old day here, lawn needs a On my way! badly but think i will aim to do that tomorrow.

Ohhh thank you sooo much (and thanks Aesop too!) Bossy is perfectly fine with me if it comes with a recipe :rotfl:

Excellent, I am going to mark my pork shank down to be married up with my cola.

I think the offal might end up in some kind of pie or might just keep it simple and pan fry, perhaps with some onion and mushrooms.

I SHALL make room in my freezer by Xmas (that's xmas 2013 btw :rotfl:)

i also found a lovely recipe for pulled pork with rosemary and sea salt today - another one on the list (although I'm torn between that and bbq pulled pork for sarnies...nom nom)
