Coating bubbling off taps

The coating is bubbling off my bathroom taps, they are Primaflow brand and only about 3 or 4 years old, though they have been in bad condition for quite some time.

I have a photo but don't know how to get it up here, tried copy and paste but didn't work.

Ah this might do it!

the tap looks ok, it's just the heads that need replacing
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Yaay got the pic up :)

So any ideas on how I can fix this in any way? Is there any product I can apply to cover it up? Can I rub the roughness off? Its like hard beads coming through.

Would replacing the tap heads be easy or is that sort of thing need much skill?

    OohH I've done that! :j
S'easy ---- see the coloured ring around the tap head?
Well, from that ring apply a little upward pressure to the centre "cap" with a paring knife, slim flat-blade screwdriver or similar (kind of like prising the lid off a paint tin); the centre piece should just "pop" off. ;)
Under the "cap" should be a x-head screw - this holds the handle onto the tap body, so make sure the tap is turned off (duh) then unscrew it and the head should lift off. :D
My local small independent DIY shop stocked a few types, & they're not expensive; my chrome ones were only about a fiver.
BUT .... just in case, take one off first & take it with you BEFORE you buy ..... it seems there may be a few different types. ;)

Thanks Tracey3569, I'll give it a go! I thought it might be a job for a plumber or handyman, of course none of them would want to come out for such a small job :)
