Distilled Water

Does anyone know where I can buy Distilled Water in the UK, I live near Glasgow. I am unable to source Distilled water locally.

So any Help would be much appreciated.

  • I think amazon do it. (well, you can get almost anything on amazon! :rotfl:)

If you've got a condenser tumble dryer the water it produces is good for using in your iron or watering the plants, etc. Not sure if it counts as distilled water as such, but it can often be used in place of it.

Curious - why do you want it? :)

Depending on how much you want - it might be worth getting something that you can distill your own with.

    Something like this.

They are dear, and also dear to run (Basically you're boiling dry the container full of water, and that takes a lot of electric).

Costs can be lower if you have a night-time electricity rate, and set it up on a timer.

If you need A LOT of distilled water, this would work out cheaper. If you only need a bit now and again, just buy it.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

It's used in the car battery

I remember in the 70's my dad had an old Banger, every Sunday the battery was removed, topped up with distilled water and stuck on charge overnight to get the car started Monday

Any pharmacist should be able to order Distilled Water BP. It'll be rather expensive though. Or you can mail order from places such as
    http://www.thedistilledwatercompany.com/

Halfords etc usually sell deionised water which is ok for car batteries but not manufactured to medical standards of purity. Depends what you need it for.

  • Hi all, thanks for the replies...

I make colloidal silver and use it for acne and rashes... it works great...

I need to buy 0ppm distilled water as that's the best water to use... I would never use de-ionised water or RO water...

Nowhere sells it...Halfords sells de-ionised which is no use...

I don't understand why it's not readily available as distilled water has other uses.. e.g used to make fragrances, creams, arts and crafts... hobbies such as stream trains... so you would think it would be available...

I have asked chemists in my area, they said no they do not sell it... The only place I can get it is on-line which comes with a big delivery charge....

I asked Lloyd's chemist to order Distilled Water for me over a year ago. Took two days to arrive. Almost £5 for 2 litres. Hope this helps.
