Tent not fit for purpose(door wont close)

Hey there new here and in need of some advise, in september i had bought a gelert tent at a good deal from Rutland water cycling through Amazon. Where i live at the moment i didnt have room to put it up to try so as the nice weather is here we went away on the two last weekends. As we put it up we split a pole which i have now found is very common on this tent (gelert horizon 6) and as we have owned and used a tunnel tent for a fair few years it was not through inexperience.
Not only this but the design of the tent includes a brow over the main side door which when used it is impossible to close the door as it stretches it way too much. To use the door we have to take the pole out of the brow and leave it out surely this is not right. I have contacted the seller and they have said they wont give us a refund but we need to send them pictures of the faults so they can see what they can do.
Where do we stand
Sorry for the long post
Regards
Craig

Have you done this? What was the response?
To steal a response to a similar thread:frugal_mike wrote: »If the faults are inherent then they have to repair, replace or refund (possibly partial) if the [STRIKE]trampoline[/STRIKE] tent hasn't lasted a reasonable length of time. However, since its more than 6 months since you bought it the onus is on you to prove the fault is inherent. You will need to get an independent report to prove this.

Thanks for the reply, not sent the pictures yet but will be sending them tonight.
Will the door problem be classed as an inherent fault do you think? i dont think its a repairable fault as its just the way its designed and i dont think they even do this model anymore.
I have a feeling im going to be banging my head against a brick wall with this one.
well we'll see what reply i get off them.0
