Getting to grips with the online banking setup, i have a question about security software. I use comodo internet security and am quite happy with it, i see on the fd website they recommend trusteer rapport as well as a security package, is their any drawbacks in not using rapport ie any blame on the customer.

Does trusteer rapport override/cancel out my own eg AVG security?
Or do they work in tandem -belt and braces style?0 -
From FD website:
"Trusteer Rapport security software is designed to secure the connection between your computer and first direct websites. It's free, easy to install and simple to use. It works seamlessly with any existing anti-virus security software you may already have, offering an extra layer of protection when you use Internet Banking."
Just wondering why you advise against Browntoa?0 -
There are stacks of posts about Trusteer on MSE http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&as_epq=trusteer&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=forums.moneysavingexpert.com&as_occt=any&safe=images&tbs=&as_filetype=&as_rights=
You don't have to use is, there is nothing in the T&Cs that required you to. Trusteer might add another layer of security to your banking transactions but it won't be able to protect you if you lose/mis-lay/give away your login data.0 -
Think i will not use rapport as long as its not in T&Cs to do so.:T0

Good move. It will mess your PC up.
My PC wouldn't boot after installing it and restarting - blue screen every time, and when I did eventually manage to delete its driver files it refused me to load my web browser. Managed to get rid in the end and never installed it again. There are better solutions out there.0
