Vauxhall to "move upmarket"

This is a dangerous move for Vauxhall.... they are starting to come out with some better quality cars (Astra) and people are forgetting the Vectra, old Corsa etc.
What's wrong with the old Corsa?
Genuinely.
I drive one. Don't know much in general about what 'car enthusiasts' think, though. Don't want to go off-topic but I'm interested in why they're seen in a negative light?0 -
Agreed, it's a far better car then the new corsa. I used to drive the old corsa as my daily hack and drive plenty of the new ones at work.
To be fair though, the astra has always been streets ahead of everything else they make, except, possibly, the Vivaro.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
don't go near Vauxhall I have an insignia and is easlily the worst car I have ever owned many faults, I am a member of the largest insignia forum and all are having the same major issues, Vauxhall are very bad to deal with0

If this means VX will start making their Insignia/Zafira sump drain plugs with steel instead of soft metal that rounds off when you attempt to open it with a correctly sized torx bit, I'm all for it.0

Vauxhall moving upmarket? Sounds a bit like polishing T**rds!
More seriously, they did well with the VX220. They should make more cars like that!0 -

The dealerships are not Vauxhall, they are dealerships run by sneaky salesmen types, all talk and no trousers. Most dealership chains sell many different manufacturers cars up and down the country (Arnold Clark, Evans Halshaw, etc etc).
I have a Vectra C 1.8 petrol, it had a new gearbox in 2009, but its cost me next to nothing to run since then. I fix most small faults myself and do the servicing. If this means VX will start making their Insignia/Zafira sump drain plugs with steel instead of soft metal that rounds off when you attempt to open it with a correctly sized torx bit, I'm all for it.
They are indeed alloy plugs, but then if you used a steel plug in an allow sump it'd leak.......
The problem is not the material, it's the idiots that over tighten them.
AND they usually over tighten them because they can't be bothered to change the seal (which cost's all of 50p).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Bad idea, Honda created a new brand for the higher end market called accura in the USA. Using the same brand will make their target market reluctant to buy as the brand is associated with budget cars and blue collar workers vehicles. Also it will price out their core market if they suddenly hike up prices0

Unless they use/resurrect the name "Opel" in the UK, I think most of the current generation have sufficiently forgotten the god awful Opel Manta by now.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Cant see it working unless they produce another premium brand, such as Acura or Lexus, I cant see anyone craving a car with a VX badge on it.

I once turned down a job offer for the sole reason of the company car was a vectra.0
