Stopping bugs sticking

I think it is something to do with my animal magnetism but no matter what vehicle I have I always seem to get many more dead bugs on my windshield than most. The new car is even worse than the previous for it :(

Whilst I've never ultimately had a problem of removing the critters once I've got home as any mild cleaner + elbow grease gets rid of it but I was more wondering if there is anyway to stop them sticking in the first place so that the screen wash/ wiper blades are able to get rid of the mess whilst driving?

    Drive slower !!!!

You could try using rain-x or similar but I don't think it works very well on fly/bug internals.

I was following a caravan for 20 miles and caused at least a 100 deaths. I am not sure I want to be going much slower :A

We had a terrible job with this with our old car (mercedes a-class) as the front was so 'abrupt' it was like a moving wall and we caused genocide in the summer. Had to constantly use washer fluid while driving to keep the big smears to a minimum!

Mine's not even like a moving brick wall but relatively sloped compared to the bonnet.

Obviously the photo lacks the grave yard on the windscreen
  • i find a regular (every 10 mins) squirt of water does the trick
then a nice healthy soaking when parking up, this allows the detergent to soak in

Rain X works well. You need to clean the windscreen daily before the bugs get baked on hard.

Cleaning them off afterwards isnt trouble, I just find they are fairly baked on instantly at the moment so the jets and blades rarely even smear them let alone actually remove anything. The bugs themselves bounce off just leaving their guts behind.

Will try the Rain X though
