Just noticed that the Ideal Home mag has a basic cheesecake recipe (plus variations) which uses an 8 inch springform tin.

I think this is the best chocolate cake recipe I've ever tried,

I took one to work a couple of years ago and people still talk about it now. It's easy to make, but the mixture is very runny so I always end up with it all over my hands and face. It uses a deep 8" diameter cake tin.0 -
