Ppi policy premium

I've posted earlier about my actual situation.

Halifax have upheld my claims in part however going through the details they advise what I have paid them towards the PPI policies and what I would have paid had I sought an alternative.

They are stating that I would have paid (i.e. if I had sought an alternative) £9 for every £100 of the net monthly repayment as ruled by the FSA. EG if the loan was £200 the cost of the regular premium would have been £18.

Is there anyway you can appeal this? I get that it as advised by the FSA but I seriously would not have had any policies in place at all.

At the time of the loans the PPI was not appropriate for me as I had death in service where I worked (i.e. all my debts would have been paid off) and I had sick pay so I didn't need the PPI in the instance.

I'm just tryna squeeze every penny out of these gits as they have done out of me!! Just wanna make sure I'm going the right way about it.

Thanks for any input you can give ;)

The refund method is in line with regulator guidance where single premium instead of monthly has been used and no other failing identified.

Your complaint hasnt been upheld on that basis. They are saying they have found no wrongdoing in any other area.

Death in service is irrelevant. Sick pay can be a good reason if the sickness benefits are long. e.g. 6 months full, 6 months half pay. However, if its only a couple of months then its not a good enough package. Also, whilst some PPI does not pay out whilst there is sick pay, others do. So, that can influence the outcome.

How long does your employer sick pay continue to pay out and at what level of reduction?

if you feel like that then why did you agree to it in the first place?

There is a lot of history with Halifax and I. Rather than try and help me when I got in such a bad place financially they stuck a £5 per day charge on an overdraft I had. I ended up going over my overdraft due to charges they kept applying (being aware of the difficulties I was in) and I ended up snowballing.

I'm not a bitter person just that in my opinion Halifax could have improved their service especially due to the length of time I had been with them.

I am soon to be out of debt and don't wish to go back there, but if Halifax, along with other banks helped their customers in times of struggle rather than turn their backs and turn up the charges, a lot of people would not struggle the way they have to.
