    It is not a fine!

In Scotland, you just ignore the jokers, unless its a company car - if you employer won't ignore the junkmail, then you need to do an "appeal" simply to divert the threatening junkmail to you. Then you ignore as before - they cannot go back to your employer. :)

Hi, thanks for the reply, it's my own personal car, just worried that i get taken to court, etc.

Can they try and recover the money any other way ie. bailiffs?

Also, if they take me to court and win will this affect my credit rating?

If it goes as far as court proceedings, can i pay up before we actually goto court and it ends there? As i can;t afford a solicitor and i'm no the best at public speaking and wouldn't defend myself properly

    Hi tatties,

They never do court so it will have no effect whatsoever. If they are stupid enough to try court you can come straight back here and get all the help you need.

Now go back to enjoying the weather.

    Al.

p.s. my friends in warmer climates tell me that the big, hot looking thing in the sky over Scotland is called "the Sun". Be like me and go enjoy it while you can. :-)

In Scotland the PPC would need to know who the driver was. The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 does not apply in Scotland, only in England and Wales, so they are unable to chase the Registered Keeper in the event of them being unable to determine who the driver was.

I would have another look at your first post as it does identify the driver, so I'd remove any I, Me or We from it and use the 3rd person.

For example - 'on arrival at a premises a permit was issued to enable the car to be parked in the parking spaces........'

The follow AltheHibby's advice - cool beer, hot sun - here comes Summer

Just ignore your next 5 letters. You did not enter into any contract with the company so their threats are just that. Just be careful next time you go there!

Does that link help? DO NOT APPEAL, THAT'S JUST THEIR WAY OF TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO WAS DRIVING SO DO NOT ASSIST!! You will just have some debt collector hysterical junk mail to laugh at like we have all done umpteen times in the past. :)

Despite advice, seemingly happy to identify the driver publicly, the main line of defence. Why come here for advice then ignore it?
