Kindle Fire - Help Please

I have a Kindle Fire and have always thought I bought the wrong thing (it was on offer at the time) and what I really wanted was an android tablet. However, I read about the ‘easy installer’ app for the Kindle which should virtually turn it into an android tablet. I downloaded it onto my Kindle but now I’m stumped. I’m not really technical but can usually get by; however, after downloading the app I cannot find any info on how to progress. I have an android phone (it did say you needed to have an android device) with apps how on earth do I transfer them – I believe I could email the ‘apk’ to myself but can’t see how to do that, cannot transfer on a SD card as the Kindle doesn't have the facility for one – help please.
