Error on 11/12 Tax Return

Hi All,
Whilst going through my 12/13 Tax Return, I noticed that income figures for 11/12 in my accounts software didn't match my notes.
After investigating, I found that I must've deleted a transaction I had entered on the system, but never invoiced because it was apparent nothing would be paid.
I'm aware that it's still possible to alter the 11/12 tax return, but this will affect Tax Credits (who do not accept late changes). Instead I think I can make an adjustment (eg bad debt) for 12/13 which counteracts the income entry for 11/12. So over the course of the 2 returns, the income will be accurate, but it might be confusing to look at one year individually. Overall the same amount would be declared & taxed?
Thanks

Hmrc need notifying of the error but submitting an amended return. If tax credits won't accept an amendment for 11/12 then there is not much you can do.Running challenge 2014 = 689k / 800k0
