Cursor has a mind of it`s own

I have a Toshiba Satellite L750D laptop. When typing, the cursor just moves at random so nothing appears on the screen. As I cannot touch type, I notice when I look up and it has stopped typing mid word.
Someone suggested the mouse was a problem (removed). Another that I was brushing the pad accidentally. So keypad blocker used. But it still happening.
Any clues, please. It happened 12 times while just typing this. It does not happen on my other Toshiba so I don`t think it is me.
Thanks.

Try this in case it's a corrupted mouse driver - I've just copied the text from another question I answered.
You might try going to 'Device Manager' (as an Administrator) and uninstalling the mouse driver(s) by right-clicking, then restart the computer.
The drivers should reinstall themselves afresh automatically as the computer restarts - though if you had to install the mouse using a CD then you may have to reinstall the mouse yourself. You can lose a loose goose.
You cannot loose a lose goose.
Get it? Now use it before you lose it.
or - Try using it - not losing it.0 -
Ok, I have tried as you suggested. So far so good. Even the uni IT help desk were unable to figure it out.
Not one incident while typing. Thanks for your help.0
