teaching overseas - then returning years later

The only thing I can think of that I don't think has been mentioned is that when/if you return to the uk you won't be considered to be a qualified teacher unless you have a pgce/equivalent, so won't necessarily be able to get teaching work easily. My OH was in this situation and struggled to get work except for supply TA work, which was a bit of a shock to the system.

But otherwise have a great time!

Look at it practically - if you don't go, you'll still be sitting at that till on Wimbledon Finals Weekend in your fifties, wondering why on earth you worried about finding somewhere to stay for 12 weeks a year. And if that doesn't make you realise how minor those current uncertainties are, compared to the certainty of regretting your second chance at life, I don't know what will.
