The chances are the management at the store are not there. My aunt has been working for Sainsburys for 12 years and in that time she has had 6 different store managers - one came back after a 8 year gap for 2 years. Plus she had 4 different checkout managers.

Though, some of the checkout and counter (deli, bakery, fish) colleagues have been working there for 20+ years.

If there are assistant colleagues that have been there longer than 6 years, they probably remember your name, depending on how long you worked there and were you a popular colleague. These colleagues have NO say who gets jobs.

If your daughter gets to work for Sainsburys and colleagues ask 'are you (your name)'s daughter? Tell her to say yes and just reply with she's OK thanks.

No drama needed in my life thank you .
Thanks to the others for your advice.
Wouldn't want my daughter to go for an interview and be successful only to be refused a position because of a stupid mistake on my part.
I was worried because we obviously share the same address and it may still be on record ?

I don't think someone that couldn't turn up for a shift would have left a lasting memory for them - they won't even remember who you are.

Just make sure your daughter realises how important it is to turn up for work if she gets the job and doesn't repeat your mistakes.
  • Chances are, given the high staff turnover in retail. The management won't be the same and they won't know.

Because of the reason of the dismissal was a 'boring' one - you would have been forgotten about a few months down the line.

If you were dismissed and had a distinctive story behind it - would be different.
