Moisturiser for very dry skin

Since beginning with the menopause my skin has become very very dry, both on my face and body.
I wondered if anyone knows of any creams which aren't full of parabens and stuff like that, which are effective and not too greasy.
I don't mind paying a bit more for something effective, particularly for my face, which is starting to get little fine lines which I hate!

Not sure about all the parabens type stuff, but my skin was incredibly dry last winter, and Clarins HydraQuench sorted it out pretty quickly. It's really thick and feels lovely on. I think it's about £32 for a jar, but lasted me a long time.0

there is a new E45 lotion out now, has a red top, available at supermarket, un-perfumed.0

Not sure about para ends, but I have recently started using aveeno.. And it's coping amazingly with my newly diagnosed roascea. I sometimes am using avene too (which I think is one of the best things one can buy at boots) but aveeno is less expensive. Both are excellently moisturising and have taking my skin from a sudden crocodile to normally, softly human soft and glowing, even after sun exposure (a night mare for roascea I have discovered). DH has used avene for years since his Italian dermatologist recommended it as a skin care range. The aveeno was because I asked my dad to pick be some avene up in boots and he got aveeno instead, and its great too!0

Liz Earle superskin. I find it is the only thing that sinks in. No more dryness.0

Not a moisturising cream, but I recommend this:

As it's an oil it can make your skin shine - if you're using it on your face (I do occasionally) then I'd suggest putting it on at night and rinsing it off in the morning.
I find it's incredible. I suffer from psoriasis (thankfully only on my feet for the last couple of years), and this is a million times better than any cream including the prescribed moisturisers.0 -
I started getting really dry skin a couple of years ago and have used Nivea Visage Q10 Plus night and day creams ever since and I really like them. They are usually around £10 each, but regularly go on offer for £5. Savers often have them at the reduced price.
The night cream is a little greasy and rich, but my skin feels lovely in the morning. The day cream just sinks away to nothing very quickly.0 -
I don't know if I would use this on my face but for best moisturiser I've ever used was pure coconut oil. It's solid at room temp and because its edible it doesn't contain all the usual carp of other moisturisers. Asian supermarkets sell it really cheap but I think holland and barratt sell a version.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Bio-Oil - though an oil, it very quickly absorbs into your skin. Use a little and spread it well.0
