Staying in hotel instead of renting

Update (Just in case other students are thinking of doing this)
I went with the hotel idea in the end, and it was a great idea. Instead of staying in a Travelodge, I split my time between two family run hotels for around £22 a night, including breakfast. One of them even had a gym, swimming pool and sauna, which I used quite a lot.
I spent 3/4 nights in a hotel, then traveled a few hours back to my parents for the remainder of the time. Traveling can get quite tiresome, but I found it a great time to complete university work (trains).
Would I recommend it? If your course is like mine, where you only have a few months of classes, then it's independent dissertation work, then definitely, as a long as you don't mind moving around quite a lot.
Saved me quite a bit of money, I enjoyed it (even if I did get some odd looks when telling me people I stay in a hotel), and now that chapter is just about over (in a few weeks).0 -
