How have you been informed, rumour or in writing.
First read up on compulsory purchase orders. Next ring the local authority legal department to find out what is happening, get their reply in writing.
Look through the minutes of the local authority committee dealing with this for the authorisation of this action.
Ring your mortgage providers legal department for advice.
Does anybody else in the block also own their own flat, if so get together.0 -
well of course the council will have to buy your flat off you
as to the rest:
no idea

Compulsory purchase system guidanceThis guidance is not a substitute for professional advice. If you think your property may be the subject of a compulsory purchase order you should seek advice from a professionally qualified person such as a chartered surveyor or solicitor, who should be able to advise on your rights and also act on your behalf if appropriate. It is best to seek professional help as early as possible.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors operates a compulsory purchase helpline which can be contacted on 0870 333 1600. This helpline puts you in touch with experienced chartered surveyors in the local area who will provide up to 30 minutes of free advice.0
