Firestone Rubberised Roof Smelling in Hot Weather

Earlier in the year we had Firestone rubberised roofs put on our garage and dorma roofs. Our neighbour on the right of us is constantly complaining of a pungent smell they notice when they are in their garden when the weather is hot. None of our other neighbours have complained about a smell.
We have been all round the garden to see what and in our garage to see what the smell could be and found nothing. It is definitely not a drains smell.
Has anyone else who has had a Firestone rubberised roof put on their garages noticed a strong smell when the weather is hot? We had a new felt roof put on originally by a builder but when it rained it leaked into the garage. Having the rubber roof put on was the only way we seemed to be able to stop the rain leaking in.
It wasn't cheap at £1080 and we are at the point of getting Environmental Health out to see if they can find a problem. If they say it is the roof I am at a loss what to do about getting a water tight roof and not sure I could afford the expense.
Help!

We have had the roof installed since mid May and this has been the first period of hot weather we have had since it was installed. My husband says the smell is like a rubber tyre smell. I did read that rubber roofs can smell for a while when first installed but it wares off after a while. Have you found this to be true?0

Ignore it and them, the smell will go over winter, it can only "evaporate once", effectively it's the solvents in the material flashing offI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
The smell will go over time don't worry.0
