Audi A4 convertable - roof wont lower!

2003 Audi A4 convertable and the roof wont lower. Have checked the fuse and its OK, and when you press the button on the centre console ot lower it it shows a message of 'lower rear storage box' on the dashboard screen. Theres a lever in the boot you move across to lower the hood storage box, and the lver locks into placebut the stroage box feels not quite down? Cant seem to find where its fouling or if theres a sensor thats not making, any ideas?
