Maple is really early 90's. It's really dated and because of that it looks cheap. Have you seen it in the shop?

If you are renting, especially to students, you need to put laminate down nearly everywhere. Carpet will be wrecked almost immediately.

But carpet is easier to replace than broken or stained laminate.

yea that's what i thought considering it would be cheap carpet. also if there is any damage then the deposit should cover it. found a store that sells 2.99 metre just gotta see if they got beige
