as have no kids myself!)

Sparkly
He already has packed lunches expect for on the odd occasion.
I HATE terry nappies lol... :rotfl: (After working in a nursery I'd rather deal with poo everywhere than deal with terry nappies...:rotfl:
Ste's credit rating is worse than mine as he's had CCjs and all sorts. Might be worth looking into though.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

was thinking about your situation while having my tea (yum yum!!) and I thought about the possibility of you getting a part time evening job.
As Ste works at HMV, he should be home for about 6ish (?). Could you maybe do a few hours a night at a petrol station or shop? If you do less than 16 hours a week it probably won't inpact on the tax credits either.
I know it's not ideal, as you wanna see ste after a days work, but every little will help towards the bills, won't it chick?
We have looked at this but there aren't many jobs around plus Ste is concerned all the extra work would make my post natal depression worse what with having to look after the girls all the time and then go out to work as well..Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Hi IA
We are in pretty much the same situation since OH has been made redundant.
Are Ste's wages enough to cover all the bills (Not inc food & petrol?)
This is how we work it, my wage just covers all the bills so thats all its ever used for (even BD (before dole
) we lived of his weekly paid wage (bills, petrol, savings and luxuries).
My wage will still pay the bills as normal and we will cut riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight back on food, no savings and no luxuries and live week to week from the tax credits we will now get and the wonderful JSA
HTH (and makes sense :rotfl:)

With regard to your mobile, I need to renew my contract this month and was looking around. The deal I found is on carphone warehouse in the clearance section. It is £3.99 a month for 200 x net mins and 250 texts. Quidco give £35 cashback, carphone warehouse are giving £15 cashback until 15th June and I can sell the phone to envirophone for £14.50 (they are going on ebay for £40+!). I don't need a new phone at all I only use it to save on my landline bills.
The only downside I can see to this is that it is a chequeback contract so you would have to outlay £30 a month and claim it back every 3 months. Other than that you are getting paid to have a mobile phone.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
IA, my quick thoughts.
Ring Child benefit office and tell them you need the child benefit weekly. They told me that i could only have it weekly if I was a single parent so I rang back and told them my OH had left me.
Then Ste's wages covers your monthly bills and debt repayments which add up to £836.80. So ste's wages go in one account and your bills and dd's go out of same account. ANy extra transfer over to debt or weekly.
Your weekly income would then become:
Tax credits £108.62 and £30.20 CB total £138.82
weekly bills £50 Ste spends £33, your spends £2.30 ha ha! petrol £11.50 per week. Any extra could go to debts etc.
This is how we deal with it at the moment and it works for us.
Good idea about the holiday and checking pay dates on moving jobs. could either cause problems or be a bonus. Good luck. Off to gym now will check in later.

IA, surely the answer lies in another spreadsheet
, come on girl, get cracking!!!!! My main spreadsheet has all income & expenditure (DD's, debt payments plus set amount for housekeeping) and allowance for petrol shown on it. I pay no real attention to what the position is on any particular day (although still check internet banking at least twice daily  ). What matters is how much is left on the day before pay day. TBH, maybe because it's because I've always been on a monthly salary, but I think it's much easier to budget this way.
You are unemployed but can prove you are actively seeking employment - child minding application shows this. Get down the Job Centre and register as unemployed and claim unemployment benefit, or whatever it is called now!!!!!
Am still celebrating your advance birthday!!!!! :beer:Debt 17 12 06 - £7700. 1st Feb 07 £6903, getting there

HI IA
I havent read all the replies so sorry if I'm repeating something, but we get our tax credits paid monthly - well four-weekly to be precise so they arrive a few days earlier each month and one month we get two lots!
If it would make it easier for you to get them monthly, give them a ring. I've always found them very helpful.
Good luck with the childminding.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
