Peugeot 206
We are planning on getting a 2nd hand car about 5 years of age but with low mileage 40k, planing on spending 3k to 3.5k. It had to be 5 door though. Looked on autotrader for a garage selling cars. I never bough a car from a garage before and we are scrapping my old car, Skoda Felicia, its been such a good runner, but some low life hit it last year when it was parked and the cost and what with high mileage and now needs a service now I just want rid.
What I want to know is, is the Puegeot 206 any good? I was planning on a Ford focus but I like a nifty little run around.
Also as I may get from a garage, I am planning on driving there (maybe 50 odd miles away) and scrapping my old car and driving back in new one, what does one do with insurance?
I was thinking of ringing insurance company and sorting that out but what if the car I thought I liked is now a slightly different model/make?

I'd go for a Focus over a 206 any day. The Focus looks better, handles bettr and will be more reliable too!!!If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

I love my peugeot 206 so I am biased. My mum has a focus and never had a problem so imho they are both great cars0

Don't scrap the felicia they're great cars
If the accident damage isn't all that bad you could give it away on freecycle and it would give someone a nice cheap runaround, or sell it for a tenner, or if you know someone has just passed their test or something.
Regards insurance I would go to places like confused.com and ecarinsurance.co.uk and get quotes (you can go back and change the car for different varieties to see how this affects the quote). For me with the last one TPFT was cheaper than third party only so this is worth checking.
You should shop around for the cheapest insurance. It may be cheaper to cancel your existing insurance (and get whatever small refund there is) and start a new policy elsewhere as opposed to being a loyal customer.
You can also get day insurance from some places so you can drive the new car home, and sort out insurance later, but it's probably easier just to start out with a full policy on the new car.0
