Hi there....
Hope u can help......After reclaiming ppi from Rbs....I then tried more in hope to reclaim ppi from Lloyds Tsb through Direct Claims Advice dec 2011 and rcvd letter saying Lloyds had no records of me...funny tho how after all these years I was with Lloyds from 1990 and had I think 3 or 4 back to back 2-3 year loans with ppi on them all, they have no records even after notifying them to search all my 6 address changes from then till now.....but wait...!! "how can I be getting letter from LOWELL PORTFOLIO 1 dated 19/05/13....asking for a payment of £376.97 for CLIENT AGREEMENT DATED - 12/08/91....CREDIT AGREEMENT REF. NO; 12345678 and ORIGINAL CREDITOR; #### LLOYDS ####..
.Q...Would this letter not be suffice as proof of having accounts and various loans with Lloyds even though the original agreements after 6 years may have been destroyed...????

If you didn't bother to pay the loans in the first place, hence they went to debt collectors, why do you think you should be allowed to claim PPI on them?
YOU DIDN'T PAY THEM TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!!!!!!0 -
It only proves you owe them money for defaulting on debts by the sound of it, it doesn't prove you paid any PPI.
If you do find evdence of PI, and you complain, and you receive some redress, Lloyds are allowed to set this off agasint any debts you have, so if you don't cancel the company, you will still have to pay them even if you receive no money yourself.
If you want to see what's left, send them a SAR anbd £10, see the front page sticky for a template letter and let us know what they come back with.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I never defaulted on any of my loans.....this came about when I was unemployed for 13/14 weeks only...I had to arrange 4 meetings with bank manager at time as they continually charged me non payment fees as the insurance was being paid at the wrong dates to when the loan payments came off...and on all of these occasions the fees were removed and I was told it wud not happen again...but it did continually...I eventually decided had enuf and closed all my accounts with Lloyds and changed banks....they have been continually chasing me for the FINAL
and only payment which I refused to pay for £323 due to there amateur incompetence after banking with them since I was 16 years old...I was covered during this period as I sent them my unemployed certification down to Wales as required fortnightly and they paid insurance on every other week....long story...but Taff please don't make such comments about me not paying loans back when I did and still am now as I have always done so with my new bank....this letter for the above sum they are chasing I was told by ppi claim company is a consolidated figure for 2 Lloyds accounts and a LOAN account...I had taking ppi out on previous loans from them, but this letter is the only evidence of me being with them now as I don't have any paperwork relating to all my previous loans with them....but can I still maybe apply to Ombudsman for help in the return of it....When I called Direct Claims they said they sent out all necessary paperwork already to me 2 1/2" years ago...but at this time my wife passed away and with 4 kids I never remembered ever seing the paperwork....I asked for a copy of it last week and they said they will have to contact Lloyds for it...what I do know is that all my previous loans with them will all be connected as I always took out new loan with the old one being paid off with it....surely there must be a chance with pushing the correct buttons to reclaim....0 -
I never defaulted on any of my loans.......
But then you go on so say that the "only payment which I refused to pay for £323" and previously mentioned DCA letters chasing the Lloyds debt. That's a default. It's a factual statement, not a moral judgement.
Follow the advice given regarding the SAR. Although it's possible, if you've already made a complaint through Direct Claims Advice in Dec 2011, that you find that it's all pretty much a dead duck anyway.0 -
Taff please don't make such comments about me not paying loans back when I did and still am now as I have always done so with my new bank.and only payment which I refused to pay for £323 due to there amateur incompetence after banking with them since I was 16 years old...
That's a default any way you want to look at it.
Send the SAR see what it comes back with.
Check your contract with the claims company and see if you can dispense with thier services without paying a cancellation fee.
You can't use the Ombudsman becasue if they did complain in 2011, you are well out time for the 6 months referral, so hopefully, the claims company made a balls up of the original complaint and you can start properly, doing it yourself.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
