Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 7th July 2013

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Good evening!
Am so in!
I challenge myself to £10 - which will be difficult - but not impossible. Just need to be a hermit for a bit
Thanks, ETO, for this week's thread0 -
I managed to make it through the week with only £25 spent & I made it to body pump! Then I went on eBay & treated myself to a bag I've been watching. So as of tonight I've spent £39.25!! A green week!
Our team also won £380 at the pub quiz!!! We've decided to keep it & have a free night out in a few weeks!
Pledging £80 this week, got a friend's birthday on Saturday so that'll be an expensive day.Post Office Credit Card [STRIKE]£5817.98[/STRIKE] £5133.32

Evening everyone.l
Well I am setting £40 for the week, not a lot planned as usual. Will need petrol but won't include that.
Sun - NSD - :j first one this month
Mon - going to weigh the little man. Then being visited by my father in law
Tues - being visited by a friend then little man is having his immunisations.
Weds - Fri - we may be going away for a few days. So maybe spendy but won't include holiday spends. If we don't go away then shouldn't need to spend too much. Famous last words.
Fingers crossed for a better week.
Hope everyone's enjoyed their weekend.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
£11.70 spent today, on rubbish which we ate while watching the tennis. Got a feeling I could be over this week.0

NSD ... But have a bit of a dilemma ...
Agreed while at work sponser a colleague's child for £5 - but now am away from the office I've realised that's a bit more than I really want to give... Whilst I know it would look bad - would you change how much you would sponsor, or suck it up and not give in to peer pressure next time?0 -
I've realised the only answer is suck it up ! Oh well that's a fiver gone...0

Personally I would suck it up and not get caught out the next time, that isn't me having a go, it's speaking from experience.I have walked away from situations and wished I hadn't committed to amounts. I've done it with sponsorship, birthdays, wedding gifts.
I have recently not even sponsored people. We seemed to have quite a lot recently before I finished at work, and it just gets too much. I give to two charities each month so I do 'my bit'. I do sometimes feel guilty but no one knows my money situation so try not to worry too much.
Sorry that was a lengthy answer to a yes/no question. :rotfl:
Anyway NSD today. :j:j
Sun - NSD :j
Mon - NSD. :j The little man has put a good chunk of weight on, so I can stop worrying about his feeding habits.father in law didn't visit, he's coming tomorrow instead.
