Hi
OH and I are thinking of 3/4 night mid-week break end of September, not fussed where as long as we can get there and back on train.
Anyone know of any mid-week breaks end September

Midweek is usually prime time for business hotels, so cities are likely out of the mix.0

You don't say where you live so not sure where would be easily accessable for you by train but you could check Premier Inn as they have rooms from £29 in some hotels for the dates you are looking for.
There is also a a Devere Hotel offer starting on 11/7/13 for dates from 20th September for £10 pppn. They have some nice hotels but are not usually near a train station, so it might be a case of researching taxi costs to a train station. Greenwich is near the train station (if you do not live in London). Mill Hill House Abingdon in Oxford is lovely with a spa bit with pool and a good pub a couple of minutes walk away where you can catch a bus to or from Oxford. Abingdon itself is a lovely town on the river with nice pubs to sit out and eat at by river.

Rather than a train you could look at http://uk.megabus.com/ as they have reasonable fares to many place from Birmingham e.g.Birmingham to London £6 return fare per person 24 Sept 7.45am and returning 27 Sept 9.30pm. Birmingham to Liverpool has similar prices. Birmingham to Oxford £7 return fare per person.Bonking_Mad wrote: »We live in the West midlands
If you could link this in with a £20 a night Devere hotel sale room when it goes live on 11 July for example at Greenwich (for London or Greenwich itself is really nice). Abingdon Oxford (bus from Oxford) it could work out a cheap break. Premier Inn currently has £29 saver rooms for Liverpool for 24/9 to 27/9. Also you could keep an eye on the group buying sites such as groupon, wowcher etc as they often have deals for cities for cheaper eating out, tours etc.0
