Hey
We should be moving into our first home in the next few weeks. What happens about setting up our Council Tax, water (meter) and TV Licence? Do they send letters or before we move in?

What happens about setting up our Council Tax
You need to give the council a call either before or just after you move in to get it set up.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
We already had a council tax letter waiting for us. I assume the previous owner passed on the details when they said they were leaving?0

Just phone them all up and tell them that you are moving into your new home on such-and-such a date.
The same with gas, electricity, phone, broadband etc. You should have details of the current suppliers on the form that the sellers filled out (your solicitor will have sent this to you).:snow_grin"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........":snow_grin0
