I've just read about Moneydance on here and it logging into your bank account online. Surely this contravenes the T&C of your bank account? Also which banks does it support out of the main UK ones?
Santander,HSBC,nationwide,virgin,lloyds,halifax etc?
I feel uneasy entering my login details into these apps atm, i think anyway. I'm undecided.

You'll probably get better answers on the Moneydance forum. E.g http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/financial-institution-direct-connection-support-requests/1637-uk-banks0

I've never entered and will never enter my banking login details into any application that is not provided by my own bank, but some people do.
I prefer to enter my transactions manually. All the regular ones are there automatically, so I only have to enter the irregular ones. It does have the benefit of forcing me to check my accounts more closely rather than just saying to the app "Download transactions".0 -

OFX is a protocol for the exchange of financial data

Again, you'll get lots better info on the Moneydance forum (it's v US oriented there though atm)0
