    Hi Sue

I'm sure some more experienced folks will be along soon but in the meantime could you post a detailed SOA (Statement of Affairs) listing all your incomings and outgoings. See the sticky near the top of the Debt Free Wannabe board for details of how to do this. We can then take a look and see if we can suggest ways of cutting down and freeing up money.
I know that the council tax and mortgage payments are priority debts so maybe we can help you raise some money towards getting these sorted.
    Good luck

hello again thank you for your message of hope i was feeling very low yesterday.i have just phoned ballifs and they wont £25.00 aweek if you pay by debit card its a £2.50 charge(had to make apayment straight away):p i said that was discusting as they had all ready charged me for the dept so they said we will send you a booklet that you can pay at the post office .but they will charge £1.99 every week.so i said no to that so they said send a cheque.i am gooing to sell my house as i dont have a lot of choise.looking into selling and renting back.that is my biggest worry.i have had all my other depts sorted out by the cab. they were very good.even came to court with me when i went in september for the repossetion hearing.which got suspended.but i have struggeld to keep up the payments so am another month in arrears total about £4,000. cant keep it up any longer.30years i have lived in my home.i think it was the worst thing i did when i bought it off the council.my payments are £1,200 a month with the arrers.

    Hi,

Why dont you post pu an SOA and we can take a look for you.

Also, sell & rent back schemes arent very good because you will get a really low and unfair price for your home. You'd be better off selling it the normal way and renting somewhere different, perhaps smaller.

    Hi there!

If you post a full SOA (see Southernscoussers sticky thread) then we should be of more help.

A few thoughts come to mind though if you want to keep your house
    -get a lodger
    -cancel any Sky/gym membership/magazine subscriptions
-reduce your food shopping (look at Old Style board)
-give up smoking (if you do)
-phone up the council and ask if you could pay off the arrears by X amount each month on top of your normal payment or in the two months you dont pay council tax.
-if possible get rid of your car
    - take packed lunches to work

They are quite a lot of good dfw tips around but obviously we don't know whats relevant to you unless you post your incomings and outgoings.

Good luck sorting out your debts and I hope we can help!

Are you getting all the benefits that you are entitled to? Have a look on https://www.entitledto.co.uk and you can put in your income and see if there is anything you haven't claimed for.

Both of you keep a spending diary so that you can see where all those odd, bits and pieces total up to. Eg someone on here realised they were spening £100 a month on coffee on the way to work!

It can be sorted but you need to cut back your outgoings to the bone. We will be able to suggest more things once you have put up an SOA
    best of luck
