To the OP,
I would suggest you arrange an overdraft to cover you for situations such as this.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
F.A.O. Mark7799 & Al Mac,
1) The money was in on time. Natwest's ball's up not mine.
2) I don't require a overdraft. Funds are always in on time.
Thank you for your reply's.

The money was not in on time - admittedly you said you didn't know NatWest's rules but you were outside their timescale.
Having an overdraft would not have cost you anything and would have saved you what sounds like a lot of grief in this situation.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
Hi Al Mac,
£38.00 refunded from bank plus cost of calls plus a apology. (Just got of phone)
I do agree that online transfers within the same financial institution should be instant. It was the same wasn't it? Yes Al Mac it was the same. They where happy to pay the mortgage but not the mobile bill. Both transferred at the same time.
Anyway its sorted now got funds returned.
Thank you for all the reply's
Cheers

Hi Mark7799,
If funds where not in on time why did they pay mortgage? I have been doing this for well over a year and had no problems.
Anyway all sorted now.
Thank you for your reply.

"your ignorance of how the system works, however badly, doesn't make it the banks fault!"
We had exactly the same problem with Natwest's 'before 3:30pm the day before' rule. When we queried it, they said it was in the T&Cs booklet. THREE members of CS staff, the Assistant Manager, and the Manager all searched through the booklet to try and find it, without success. They then refunded us in full because they couldn't find it.
So customers' ignorance of how the system works IS the bank's fault if they don't make the system clear to their customers. What are we supposed to be, mindreaders?0 -
i've been lucky with lloyds as if a payment goes out and theres a shortfall, as long as money is transferred the same day i dont get charged
came in handy last month when work did'nt bother paying any of us...thank god i had enough savings to cover everything0 -
