Monarch flight discounts

Went on Monarch website yesterday to look at flights and they were approx £100 cheaper than today. Do they hike up the prices on weekends? They are also offering a discount of £20 per flight at the moment. Maybe that's the reason they've increased the prices?
It is better to book mid-week of weekends or does it make any difference?:j

There is no real pattern to it - buy when it is a price that you are happy to pay and never look at the prices afterwards

While airline prices can be volatile, they're usually not *that* volatile.

Have a look again midweek. Ive seen jet2 upping the prices b4 a sale too. The 2 supposed bad boys Ryanair and Easyjet are probably the most honest out the whole lot

Sorry my comments were a bit misleading as "jpsarte" noted. The prices were based on 3 people flying so overall the cost has increased by £100 for the whole package not £100 per flight. Nonetheless they do seem to be upping their prices before a sale.

Prices haven't come down - so maybe I'm wrong, unless anyone has other views? :o
  • I think the most likely thing is people have booked seats on the flight, pushing the price up to the next fare bracket.

SALE now finished - Checked prices today and well what do you know? The prices have reduced! Shame on you Monarch - you just lost a customer - I booked elsewhere.

Fly Thomas Cook are using the same ploy and tactics! They have a sale on until 22 July with £20.00 off return flights. All they have done is to increase their flights each way by £10.00 and then offer £20 off return flights. Do they think we are stupid? Isn't this unfair practice??
