Hello we have been approached by a company offering to buy our house it's valued at £180,000 and they are offering £168,150 plus £1000 towards legal fees subject to a satisfactory surveyors report which they will organise - the company is G & H Property Buyers is this a genuine offer or a scam? Thanks

As soon as they start asking you for fees, tell them to sling their hook. The big risk is that they drop their offer on contract exchange. You have to be strong to tell them NOYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0

Their £168K will drop... at some point.
They will want an upfront payment..... at somepoint. Before the £168 drops.
By all means follow this up, provided you are willing to throw away good money.
Of course, if you are rolling in cash, then it does not matter does it? Are you?0 -

That would be the bit that worried me about the whole thing...if the surveyor is organised by them he is likely to find fault with the house and drop the offer price to you.
If you wish to sell your house by all means do,but at least do it on your terms rather than theirs.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Not very good at submitting their accounts on time, are they :rotfl:!
Not that this, on its own, should be a deal breaker0 -
Thank you for your comments very helpful if it sounds too good to be true it usually is - I think I will sell using the usual tried and tested route0
