Basic acc, credit check issue

hi there, i am trying to rebuild my credit score, and i applied to barclays to open a basic bank acc, as they dont do a credit check, i made an appoint ment at the branch, and took in my ID , also explained what i wanted and explained why, the girl typed everything into her computer then said my application had "refferd" this was sent to underwriting who assessed this and then declined it, , the bank advisor had applied for a full acc for me, did not mention a credit check was being done, as i dont want searches on my file if i can help it, the underwriter said i could have a basic bank acc, as it did not have any credit, wich was what i wanted in the first place,


am i entitled to have the search removed from my file
will i have to write to barclays?

please help

A lot of banks will credit search you these days even for Basic accounts.
