Needed to send text to family member in EU, searched and came up with a site that offered FREE SMS.
No mention anywhere about charges so I duly sent off my texts to find out this morning it has cost each of the recipients £3.00 just to read them!
Not funny.
These are the providers of extremely EXPENSIVE FREE TEXTS : http://smsfree4all.com
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Eh? I don't understand how that can be? Are you saying the SMS's were not delivered, or something? Or did you send picture messages and they had data charges?0

Don't often send texts abroad - who is charging?"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

Don't all companies charge extra to receive texts abroad independent of where they were sent from.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Sounds like a bit of a scam to me xLike to post about competitions - if you have found it helpful, please give me "Thanks"! Also interested in house keeping, money saving, technology, cosmetic industry, reading, charity, family.0

You would have been better just sending the text.
Roaming charges have been reigned in (for recepients.)0 -
I tried using one of the free text companies to message my mum. She called 5mins later saying they wanted £5 off her to see the 'urgent' text I'd sent her. I was only letting her know I was running 5mins late... haven't used one since0

If you were 5 mins late and she called you 5 mins later, surely she could have told you in person?
Madness to expect someone to pay £5 for an 'urgent message'!0 -
So they're presenting it like a reverse charges phone call - outrageous!0
